Document management with IBM FileNet Content Manager helps you meet the growing challenge of managing enterprise content with greater speed, efficiency, and accuracy.
FileNet Content Manager is a document management engine that combines enterprise content, security and storage features with ready-to-use workflow and process management capabilities.
Our IBM FileNet Content Manager for SharePoint Connector allows SharePoint users to securely search for content stored in FileNet repositories. Access to content is determined by security established in FileNet, ensuring that your content is as safe when accessed through SharePoint as it is directly within FileNet.
This capability allows for SharePoint to serve as the portal through which users can access all required content, making SharePoint search true Enterprise Search.
This connector supports both full crawls and incremental crawls:
- Full crawls request and index all desired content from FileNet
- Incremental crawls request and index only content which has changed since the last crawl
Our IBM FileNet Content Manager for SharePoint Connector addresses key requirements as follows:
1Works with unstructured content and structured data.
2Works with large documents, attachments, and complex systems with a customer-configurable schema.
3Indexes every desired item with a very high throughput.
4Minimizes the impact on the performance of the source system.
5Only surfaces the content that users are permitted to see.
6The source system retains the master information and the search index has only a representation (pointers).
Future-proof your investment for new SharePoint versions and O365
With each successive version of SharePoint, Microsoft extends its core capabilities, and the same is true of new releases of the IBM FileNet Content Manager. BA Insight does the hard work of keeping the connector up to date for both FileNet and SharePoint. In addition, the FileNet for SharePoint Connector also works with O365 through Cloud SSA. In fact, we support current versions of SharePoint, including 2010, 2013, 2016 and Office365.
The upgrades can be done by your IT organization. It is a matter of accessing the BA Insight customer portal, downloading the latest release and installing and configuring it. Or, if desired, our professional services team can handle the upgrades.
